Disney Dreamers Academy
Campaign and collateral for Disney Dreamer’s Academy scholarship competition titled Dream It.
The main focus of this campaign is to express to young Disney Imagineers that, like Walt Disney himself, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it”. It centers around inspirational leaders who did not succeed the first time they set out to achieve their dreams but continued to persevere. This scholarship and campaign message is important due to the increase in high school students not attending college because they are worried about the financial debt it will put them in. They are settling with what is available to them instead of taking risks. The objective is to inspire high school seniors to chase their dreams while providing financial stability with a scholarship presented through the pre-existing avenue of Disney’s Dreamer’s Academy.
Software: Watercolor, Graphite, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
The scholarship brochure is available at all high school counseling offices. Brochures give details to parent(s)/guardian(s) of applicant by stating what is needed for eligibility, submissions, and the according prizes offered.
Scholarship is earned by submitting a video entry along with an essay showing off the applicant’s dream and what they plan to do with the scholarship funds.
Top ten participants receive the Dream It reward box with a t-shirt with their choice of inspirational leader.
Social media spans across Instagram and Snapchat to directly interact with the target audience of high school students (ages 17-18). Instagram goes behind the scenes on the creation of the campaign. It features the illustration process of creating the artwork for each inspirational leader. Snapchat features a photomontage filter with a variety of Disney related content.
